Assessing children aged 6 and over
Lighthouse Pathways assesses children and young people from age six. We chose this lower age limit because reliable ADHD diagnosis usually requires a stable picture of attention, activity, and impulsivity across more than one setting.
What is different about CYP assessment
- We gather information from parents or carers, the child themselves where appropriate, and often the school.
- Validated tools are chosen for age-appropriateness.
- Sessions are paced for the child, with breaks where helpful.
- The diagnostic conversation includes practical recommendations for home and school.
Who carries out CYP assessments
Our CYP clinicians are UK-registered specialists with extensive NHS and CAMHS experience. They are trained in child and adolescent neurodevelopmental assessment.
