Confidentiality at Lighthouse Pathways

Confidentiality means that what you share with us stays within the clinical team unless you authorise sharing or unless safety requires us to act.

Standard practice

  • Information you share with your clinician is part of your medical record.
  • It is shared with other Lighthouse Pathways team members on a need-to-know basis.
  • It is not shared with your employer, family, or anyone else without your consent.

Exceptions

There are limited circumstances in which clinicians have a duty to share information without consent: if there is a serious risk of harm to you or to someone else, or in response to a court order. Where possible, we discuss any such situation with you first.

Communication with your GP

Sharing information with your GP is a separate process and only happens with your explicit consent, except in the limited safety situations described above. See Will you share information with my GP?
