Will you need information from my GP before starting medication?
Yes. We will usually need access to your Summary Care Record (SCR) or equivalent medical history to check current medical conditions and any medications you are already taking.
Why this matters
ADHD medication interacts with some other medications and can be unsafe with certain medical conditions. The Summary Care Record gives us the minimum information needed for safe prescribing.
How to enable access
If you do not already have an SCR enabled, your GP practice can activate one. Many people already have one, often without knowing. Your clinician will guide you through this during the Initiation Session.
If you cannot share your SCR
If sharing is not possible, your clinician will work through the relevant medical history with you in detail at the Initiation Session. In some cases, additional baseline checks may be requested.
