This is not an administrative step. Prescribing ADHD medication is a clinical responsibility. To do so safely, the prescriber needs to understand: - How the diagnosis was reached and whether the report contains sufficient clinical evidence - Your current symptoms and how they affect daily functioning - Your medical history, including any physical health conditions - Your mental health history - Current medications and any known drug interactions - Cardiovascular and other physical risk factors In some cases, if the diagnostic report does not contain sufficient evidence, the clinician may advise that a new assessment is required before prescribing can proceed.
