Self-referral: how to begin

You do not need a referral or a letter from your GP to begin. For a private assessment, you can book directly with Lighthouse Pathways, which removes one of the slowest steps in the traditional route.

Self-referral works in three stages. First, you book your assessment online and choose either the Clarity Pathway or the Fast-Track Pathway. Second, you complete the pre-assessment questionnaires sent to you by email. Third, you attend your assessment appointment by secure video.

Self-referral does not mean you bypass clinical rigour. Every assessment is carried out by a UK-registered specialist clinician using validated tools and a structured clinical interview. Self-referral simply removes the administrative bottleneck.
