Will you share information with my GP?

We strongly recommend sharing your diagnostic report and treatment plan with your GP. Coordinated care is safer care, and your GP is your long-term medical partner.

How sharing works

Sharing only happens with your explicit consent. You decide what is shared, with whom, and when. We will never share your information without confirming with you first.

Why we recommend it

  • Your GP holds your full medical record and can flag interactions with other medications.
  • Coordinated care is required for safe prescribing.
  • A shared care arrangement may give you access to medication at standard NHS prescription cost.
  • Your GP can carry out monitoring efficiently and locally.

If you do not want your GP informed

In most cases, GP notification is required to enable safe prescribing. If you have specific concerns, talk to your clinician. Medication may not be possible without appropriate information sharing.
