What happens during the assessment?

Your assessment is a structured clinical conversation, supported by validated tools and clinical judgement. It takes around one hundred and twenty minutes and is delivered by secure video.

The structure

Your clinician will ask about your current difficulties, your developmental history, and how things show up across different areas of life. The conversation moves between specific symptoms and the wider context that gives them meaning.

Tools that may be used

  • QbCheck or QbTest, computerised objective tests of attention and activity.
  • DIVA-5, a structured Diagnostic Interview for ADHD in adults.
  • Rating scales and questionnaires.
  • Collateral history where appropriate.

Your role

There is no preparation needed beyond completing your pre-assessment questionnaires. Honest, specific examples are more useful than tidy summaries. If your clinician asks something you find difficult to answer, say so. The conversation is paced for you.

Your environment

Choose a quiet space with a stable internet connection. A computer or tablet works better than a phone. Headphones reduce distractions. We will send connection instructions in advance.
